Wild Times
November 12th, 2009Blow Me Away
The weather here in London has been crazy recently. After a very late show of sweltering heat, we were treated to torrential downpours on Tuesday. The rain fell so heavily, the roads became rivers. The drainage system could not cope. Flooding everywhere. Streets awash with rain.
I noticed in the midst of the deluge. People were acting crazy. Running into the streets. Cyclists wandering any where and everywhere. People surging across roads. This continued for hours. For as long as the heavy rain fell.
I realized how much people were affected by the extreme weather conditions. Much as animals in the wild do. Yet even us humans so remote, served by science, intellectually superior, aloof, smart, logical, and yet here they were running amok like headless chickens. Unbelievable but true.
The next time we get severe weather, check it out. Just watch your fellow man.
Though we live in the mis-apprehension we are detached from nature, nothing could be further from the truth.
